The world’s leading beer, wine, and spirits producers, through their support of IARD, are working to be part of the solution envisaged by the world’s governments when they agreed to the global target of a 10% reduction in the harmful use of alcohol by 2025. Our Member Companies are commercially active in more than 110 countries, and as IARD we are helping them strengthen and expand their long-standing efforts to combat harmful drinking in the markets they serve. This work builds on two decades of research, policy analysis, and programming work done by the International Center for Alcohol Policies (ICAP), also sponsored by alcohol producers.
Our Board of Directors is guided by a set of by-laws. The Board meets three times per year, with additional special meetings that can be held as needed. The Board includes Directors nominated by their respective Member Companies.
The Chair of the Board has a term of two years and is elected by a majority vote of the Board of Directors. With each new Chair’s term, a Vice-Chair is also elected who can serve as Chair when necessary. The Board of Directors do not receive any compensation from IARD for their participation.
